As the only pan-Asian Pacific American community-based museum in the United States, the Wing Luke Museum is passionate about sharing the underrepresented perspectives in U.S. history. Through a combination of art and culture, this 60,000 square foot museum offers a unique and authentic view of the world.
To better share the unique offerings of the Wing Luke Museum with the public, the museum staff determined they needed to open six days a week rather than five. However, an issue quickly arose. The museum’s custodian was only available to work five days a week and hiring a new employee for the extra day proved to be too cost prohibitive and logistically complicated for the museum.
The Wing Luke Museum realized their unique problem would require a creative solution. That’s when they reached out to Slate. With ultimate flexibility, Slate offers an innovative cleaning solution for every need a museum may have. For the Wing Luke Museum that meant providing a Keeper once a week for six hours a day. The Keeper was given a specialized tasklist to complete during the six hour shift, both filling the custodian’s role and completing other deep-cleaning tasks. It was exactly what the Wing Luke Museum needed.
With an added day of reliable cleaning services and exciting, new opening hours, the Wing Luke Museum could generate extra revenue and meet the needs of more visitors. The Wing Luke Museum also now knows, regardless of future changes to schedules and hours, Slate will be available to meet their needs promptly and effectively.
