WHAT MAKES SLATE UNIQUE

You're probably comparing  a few cleaning companies right now.

And every one of their websites says the same things: committed to quality.
Attention to detail. Your satisfaction is our priority.

We could say those things too. They're free to say. That's the problem with them.

So instead, here are three things about Slate that are structurally true — and for each one, how you can check it yourself.

Structural claim / 01

1. We're experienced and we built our own technology. Companies are usually one or the other.

Cleaning companies come in two flavors. The experienced ones have decades in the industry — they know buildings, chemicals, and crews — but they run on phone calls, paper checklists, and a binder in someone's truck. The startup ones have slick software and no idea how long it actually takes to properly clean a bathroom.

Slate is the combination the industry doesn't usually produce: deep cleaning operations experience, and technology we built ourselves — because nothing off the shelf understood the job of managing small teams across hundreds of small locations.

What that means for you: you never have to ask "did the cleaners come last night?" Every visit, every issue, every invoice is in one place you can check from anywhere — not scattered across text threads with a crew chief.

How to check

create your own account right now. It takes a minute — no sales call, no credit card. You'll land in the actual system we run the company on, and see exactly what you'd see as a client.

2. We're built for two hundred small locations, not one big one.

Almost every commercial cleaning company is designed around the big facility: one address, one crew, one supervisor walking the floor. Their whole operation — staffing, scheduling, supervision — assumes the work is in one place.

Ours assumes the opposite. Everything about Slate is designed for spaces measured in hundreds of square feet, scattered across cities: how we recruit locally, how we schedule short after-hours visits, how we supervise a team nobody's standing next to. It's the harder version of the problem, and it's the only version we do.

What that means for you: no location is too small or too far to get the full standard. Opening location twelve works exactly like opening location two — and you never have to find another vendor again.

How to check

look at the map below — one dot for every location we clean. You won't find an airport or a stadium on it. Every business we serve looks like yours: many small locations, spread out.

3. We start with a plan. Most companies start with a mop.

Here's how most cleaning relationships begin: the contract gets signed, cleaners show up, and everyone hopes for the best.

And here's how most of them end. Things are good for a while. Then quality starts to slide — slowly enough that no single week feels worth a confrontation. You get busier. Chasing your cleaning company becomes a part-time job you never applied for. Eventually you say the words every cleaning company should fear: let's just switch.

If you're reading this page, there's a decent chance you're somewhere on that curve right now.

That decay isn't bad luck. It's what happens when nobody writes down what "good" means — because then the only quality control system is you noticing. And you have a business to run.

So we never start by just sending cleaners. Every new client begins with a discovery phase: time spent understanding your spaces, your problems, and your opportunities. From that, we build a cleaning plan — a team suited to your exact type of cleaning, the schedule, and a quality control plan that says what we're going to do and how we'll know we did it. We set the expectations in writing. Then we hold ourselves accountable to them — so you don't have to.

What that means for you: quality that holds in month eighteen, not just month one. And when something does slip, we catch it before you do — because catching it is our system's job, not yours.

How to check

ask to see a real cleaning plan — not a template, an actual plan we run today for one of the businesses in our stories. Then ask any other company for the same thing. If a cleaning company can't show you a written plan, don't hire them. That includes us.
